Things are looking up for the Hruskocys

It is hard to believe that we have been married for one whole year now. The time has gone by so fast. We did not think this is where we would be one year later but God had a different plan for us. I would not change one thing about the past 365... well 374 now!

The week before the big day Tom was busy studying for his TCLEOSE exam which certified him as a Texas Police officer. He took the test the day after our anniversary so although it was a celebrated day we were both anxious for the day after to pass.

We wanted to celebrate but nothing that would hurt Tom's studying. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then hurried home to eat our amazing wedding cake. Seriously, this woman is a cake guru. Here it was one year ago in all its glory.

And one year later... We were just happy there was no freezer burn. Check out that sweet groom's cake topper. Told you, cake guru!

Tom taking a break from cramming.

Last year Tom shoved this gorgeous cake in my face at our reception. Leaving me covered in frosting. Swinging ferociously for his face with a handful. So this time I was ready. And let's just say... PAYBACK

WAS

SWEET!

This is going to be a good year. Things are looking up for the Hruskocys! I love my husband of 374 days! :)

Happy Spring

Spring has arrived! And a little too late if you ask me... Adios... sky rocket high electric bill. Way too many kilowatts were wasted to heat this place. (I act like I know what I'm talking about.) Sinora... to the days of walking around the apartment in long sleeves, sweatshirt, sweatpants, hood and slippers.

I know that Spring has arrived when the Bradford Pears bloom. I am in love with these trees, they are beautiful! I have been so wrapped up in planning for my Kindergarten Open House that I had not even noticed they had bloomed. They opened up just in time for my Spring Break! :)
I plan on celebrating my Spring Break with open windows, country music, sweet cool breezes, drinking red wine on the patio with friends and my sweet husband, sunglasses, long walks and wearing these pretty puppies I got for Christmas from my man... I am going to live in these shoes this Spring...

I plan on lounging on the patio with my animals and reading this book. Just in time to see Miley Cyrus in her first non teeny bop movie. I am excited!

I cannot wait.
Hello warm, sunny, just in time, breezy, beautiful Spring! :)

Another Woman's Donation is Another Woman's Treasure 2nd Edition

First off.. I love Step Class! I love it because the instructor is a man... I was iffy at first. But there is just something about a man who can kick to high heaven and a pump you up Britney song that can make your night. Even better I walked in from taking our pup on a walk and my sweet husband was making dinner for us! It was such a nice surprise. He says he has to set the bar low... silly boy!

This past Saturday was gorgeous weather! Way too nice of a day to sit inside and feel sorry for our broken washer. And obviously laundry was not an option and Tom was working... so I seized the day and went thrifting. I went to 3 different Goodwills here is the metroplex, I loved driving with the windows down. I am so excited about my new treasures...

I have big plans for this beautiful frame. It's huge! I am going to use it for my idea/ inspiration board in the guest bedroom this summer. See the price tag? Its still on. Its like a little trophy reminding me on this steal..... $4.99
Iron basket... new remote control holder. We can never find it! $1.99
Wooden magazine rack. It matches the guest bedroom perfectly... $4.99
TRUE LOVE... ready for a repaint and a wedding picture... $2.99
I don't know what to call this but I am obsessed. I love things that can sit on the back of toilets... I know kind of weird. But it looks perfect with candles... $1.99
This is one of my favorite steals of the week. I have seen these keys in Pottery Barn and at Hobby Lobby. But none of those were this cheap... $5.99! LOVE IT!
How beautiful is this clock? For $4.99!!!
I showed Tom this clock and started telling him about my "plan" for our guest bedroom when we move this summer. His response was, "Uh oh, you have a vision?" Then he listened and smiled. I love him! He did like the little hooks inside the door. Perfect for keys! "Those may come in handy." he said. Like the remote I can never find my keys... see a reccuring problem here?

I love this plate hanger. $2.99
It works perfect as a holder for our wedding album.
Planter..$1.99
Leafy Garland $1.99
LOVE!
Hello pretty!!! How cute and girly... how much?
99 CENTS!
I cannot wait to find a little garland ball or birds nest to sit upon you.
When Tom came home from work he patiently listened while I told him the story of each little find and bragged about the steals I got them for... I do love him! He joked calling me a hoarder. We have been watching that TV show so its been on the brain. I have been asking myself the same question... but I really try to be reasonable and think what I can use it for in the house. But if I can buy 10 things at a resale store for the price of one item at a home decor store.... I am on board! Its the thrill of the hunt... searching for treasure.
Speaking of thrifting. Tomorrow is Tuesday and CCA resale gets their weekly shipment in! :) Happy Thrifting!
"You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round
You spin me right round, baby
Right round like a record, baby
Right round, round, round"
This song is the story of our life right now.... for the 2nd time in one month our washer is broken! Yes, in ONE MONTH!! I am mildly frustrated. The first time we woke up to soaking wet load of laundry, the spin cycle went out. My dad came to our rescue and fixed the plastic $20 part.
Well that pricey, tiny piece of plastic is definitely plastic... because Friday night the spin cycle died AGAIN! I mean, not like our Mt. Kilimanjaro of laundry was shrinking or anything when it was working. But I am telling myself that if it was working, those loads would be back to back.... do you believe me?
Tom had to work on Saturday so I had a day to myself. I woke up early for a day of thrifting. I found some awesome things... which I will share later tonight after step class. Wedding season is in full swing, along with Baby Fever of Spring 2010 :)
